I'm at the end of the article

Well, for those who haven't found it already, this is the Collegian write-up of us getting beat up at The Beat, along with assorted other incidents.

Hillsdale College

So just for old time's sake, I went and googled Hillsdale College, and we're up to number 2 now, right after the old beast itself. Time works wonders, apparently. Go us.

He looks naked without a gun in his hand

So his decadence is disguised as "getting into character," and the man whose acting may be the most radical in movies flies under the radar. Let's hope it stays that way, even though he's co-starring with Tony Leung in one of the truest American gangster films of all time.

It seems worth a shot

Well, a free iPod seems like a neat thing. Check it out through this link and help me get one. :) I figure this is less ethically threatening than giving them your email addresses. Got this from Bjorn; explains the whole thing. I suggest using your designated spam account if you try it out. If it works, thanks for the iPod. If not, at least I'll never be mentioning it again after this. That's a promise.

Blimps and 'Blogs

There's a blimp hovering over my neighborhood, presumably televising the U of M game. It's not the Goodyear blimp though, which is somewhat sad.

While I was w/out regular doses of internet, the greater HBC evolved somewhat. As noted earlier, everyone's favorite Grushenka has started a 'blog, though it appears to be slowing down already. The url is still the coolest reference of anyone in the circle, and seems to be more fitting by the week.

Krupa started posting with a vengeance; quality stuff. Much better than his first go-round as a 'blogger. Going to have to put him up on the links list.

There's been a re-design at Diet Coke, and she's posting regularly for the first time. I'm enjoying it enough that I may consider forgiving her for infecting my Yahoo account with spam.

Guess who's posting again? That's right, Hebe, reclaiming her status as my favorite pixie.

The Super-Villains have combined into a hydra-like monster. I can't stand to read them anymore, they make my head hurt too much. :)

Greene has blocked anonymous comments. I refuse to get a 'blogger account just so I can comment. Fix it, moron.

I added Little Dee to the comics links. It's a great little strip in the classic paper and print format. Extremely cute.

The original three that got me in are all in various states of heat death - Sam is quitting again, Prizio is so dead that I can't even link to him, and Binary went through a fit of posting while I was gone and then relapsed to his normal comatose state. Gar is dead too.

Everything else seems to going normally. And no, I can't tell you anything more about Semiotheque.

Who says the Right has no culture?

This is a speech that was apparently given by Mark Helprin, one of my favoritest authors, at the Hillsdale Academy '02 Commencement. I should have gone to that instead of the College one. Admittedly, it's Afghanistan, not Iraq, and I suspect it contains many implications I'd disagree with, along with a decent bit I explicitly disagree with, but I love it anyway. I'm biased, it's Helprin, I can't help it. Caitlin says he's a visiting professor in the English Dept at Hillsdale this year. I can't find any way to confirm or deny that online, but if it's true, somebody please take his courses, or at least take him out for a few drinks. If possible, make friends with him and then introduce me next time I visit, so that I can touch the hem of his garment, or some such dorky fanboy thing. :)

Reborn in Fire and Ash

After spyware of various kinds almost killed my machine, I killed them back for about an hour, then picked up AdAware, which should be packaged with all Windows desktops from now on, then went ahead and upgraded to Firefox and iTunes in a fit of frustration with Microsoft. I'm much happier now.

Pick-up lines as Litmus Tests III

"I'd like to go out slow dancing someplace fast with you, then go back, mix drinks, sit on the couch, watch movies, read books, kiss, and smoke. Let's save talking and finding out about each other until our second date, if we want to have one."
