Korean engineering triumphs over Yanks again
I am technically in a state of shock as I write this. Not half an hour ago, as I was on my home from dropping off one of my fellow trainees at my new job, a car turned left in front of me. I braked behind them, then began to accelerate again once they completed their turn. Suddenly, I accelerated much more quickly than I had intended to, as a result of the Ford belonging to the lady behind me transferring a great deal of kinetic energy into my Huyndai. The reason Korean engineering is celebrating is that her bumper ended up in about 12 different pieces in the middle of the road, while mine is merely sporting several non-stylish scratches.
Useful information for anyone out there as naive as myself - according to the police officer, cases of identity theft are common in these occurences. Therefore the official advice of the Po-lice is that you should only give out the legally required data - name, license plate number, phone number, and the name of your insurance company. Nothing else. I'll have to remember that for next time, and meanwhile simply hope that she's the honest type. Oh, and no one was hurt, just in case anyone was worried. Be well.

Google is INSANE
Insanely good, that is. Try searching for this deliberate mis-spelling of the incantation to summon C'Thulhu: "Ph-nlgui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn".

A little politics
First, I just wanted to say "We told you so"; the Duelfer report makes it clear that Iraq did not have stockpiles of unconventional weapons when we invaded and was not in the process of acquiring them. It does say that Hussein would probably have begun seeking such weapons again once sanctions were lifted, but who on earth would have lifted sanctions on Hussein? As far as "the intelligence seemed good at the time", check out this article from the NY Times; it's 15 pages, but it's worth plowing through, as it gives a detailed analysis of exactly how the Bush Administration and the CIA over-stated the intelligence in making the decision to go to Iraq and then in making the case to justify their decision.
On the subject of the debates, here's a couple articles on how Bush and Cheney are lying to you. Also enjoy this lighter note, the possibility that Bush was being fed his lines, bad romantic comedy style, in the first debate.

Anyone wanna go to a wrestling event?
It's in the Detroit area, 7:30 Sat. night, and $12 at the door. One of my co-workers is going to be competing for the tag titles with his team, Dark Skin Productions. I think it'd be fun, but I'd really like a wingman/woman if I'm going to be wandering around the Detroit suburbs looking for a pro wrestling event. Go to here and check out the upcoming shows link if you want more details; it' the "Fall Out 2004" event.

Memories
Remember when you got keys to the house for the first time? Remember the first twenty dollar bill you earned, how crisp and new it was? Remember when you got a driver's license and could register to vote for the first time? Remember when responsibility seemed like a fantastic new thing and you were dying to get all of it that you could?
Admit it, you were an idiot.
